Three Random Things
Hi, everyone! Just wanted to quickly share three things:
As I was sitting on the couch just now, Jack walked over with a stuffed bear, lifted my up T-shirt, and demanded that I feed his bear. I held the bear against my chest, but Jack wasn't satisfied with this facsimile of breastfeeding. He poked at my bra and said the equivalent of "Open boobs! Open boobs!" in Mandarin. I started laughing, but when I didn't go on to "open boobs," Jack decided he should be more polite. He said, "Open boobs PWEASE." Oh, who can resist that? So then I did open boobs and feed the starving bear. However, apparently I didn't do a good enough job, because afterward, Jack burped the bear, lifted up his own shirt, and proceeded to breastfeed the bear himself. He did a great imitation of a cross-cradle hold, too. Unfortunately, afterward Jack did what he usually does to his bear after nursing it: He banged the bear's head repeatedly on the floor while saying, "Night-night bear!" It's what Johnny calls "breastfeeding the male way." I must get a vide of this sometime!
Second, I never posted about Derek's two-month appointment last Tuesday! Bad mommy. My baby is now 24 inches long (90th percentile) and 11 pounds, 6 ounces (60th percentile), so he's growing well. Still tall and slim. He also took his three shots well. He didn't cry for the first or second, just a few small wails for the third. He slept a lot the rest of the day but was otherwise fine. What a brave boy.
Finally, I'm so happy that the fall TV season has started. Johnny and I are watching:

So You Think You Can Dance
Fringe
The Office
30 Rock
Grey's Anatomy
Family Guy
American Dad
Smallville (only because we've seen every episode and need to finish the series. We keep hoping it'll end, but it never does!)So this is great and all, but Fringe, The Office and Grey's are on all at the same time on Thursday, and I think our DVR only records two shows at once! I didn't even mention that the SYTYCD results show is on Thursdays. We have to prioritize. First we decided we don't need to watch SYTYCD results -- we'll just find out from someone who's watched it. Second, we decided we can catch Grey's episodes online. Whew. What a problem, right?
OK, off to feed now ... Derek, not the bear!

I saw the finale of SYTYCD (what a long name for a show!) and i got hooked last season!! I had no idea it was like that....so i am taping all the new shows this season. I went to YouTube and found some past dances and they sure are amazing dancers. I love how they tell a story through dancing...and they are super talented, wow!
I can't believe you don't watch House, SVU or CSI....i love those shows. But i guess if you haven't watched the first couple years of them and gotten hooked then, you probably wouldn't watch them now. SVU is probably the best show i've ever watched....i love watching a kick butt woman on screen!!
Scott and I are in the same boat with Thursdays!!!!! Why do they have all the great shows on the same damn day?? Oh and I wanna watch FlashForward which is also on Thursday nights! grr...
Jack is so CUTE! I love that story! Derek is so brave! His bff wasn't as brave but he did sleep really well for me last night after the Tylenol kicked in. Poor little guy! I'm so glad D is doing so well. Way to go mama! Or has Jack been feeding him?
@ShamrockLover - I know, a lot of people like CSI and SVU. But, I just don't feel like I can take on a new show right now! All the shows we've got going already has me stressed out! (I know that sound SO silly, but I feel like I can barely keep up with all of them.
) And yes, SYTYCD is good, but last season's was the weakest so far, in terms of personality, I feel like. The dancers were good, but man, the season before last season (season 4) was so awesome in terms of dancing and personalities. Last season was just kind of blah in terms of personality, so if you liked it, you're bound to love the past seasons (and hopefully this season will be more interesting).
@dmonroe - Oh yeah, Jack has been feeding him, especially at 4 a.m. LOL! I WISH! Meanwhile, it sounds terrible, but I loved that Derek slept so much after his shots. It's almost like, "More shots, please?" Just kidding. Kind of. I remember Jack sleeping a lot after his shots when he was a baby, too. While other moms are crying that their babies are in pain, I'm all, "Yeah, bring on the post-shot sleep!" LOL.
"Open Boobs", ha! That is hilarious. Ash definitely knows what boobs are too. He confuses "boobies" with "poopies" though. Because he had a dirty diaper and I told him to go get a diaper because he had "poopies" and he walked over to me and started squeezing my boobs saying "boobies" and laughing the whole time. LOL
I am having the same problem on Thursdays =(!
I am DVRing two shows downstairs and then watching the third upstairs.. or at least that is my plan!
So cute! I love that Jack was all about BF'ing the bear.
So glad to hear that Derek is doing well! Awesome job, Momma!
