Massive Update: We're Settled!
Warning: This entry is really long! There's a lot to write about: the move, Johnny's birthday, pregnancy update, Jack report. I've broken it up into subsections, so you can pick and choose which one(s) to read.
Our New House
I've been waiting to write a blog entry until we were completely settled and unpacked. As of yesterday, everything was in its place and all the decorations were up on the walls ... not bad for nine days! I unpacked like a madwoman, June commissioned a couple of her strapping young lad friends (David and Matt) to help us assemble large items on moving day (such a huge help!), and the weekend before the move, Chris helped Johnny put together our TV stand and take care of some things around the house. My mom came over last weekend (Johnny had to go oversee a commercial shoot in Vancouver for two days starting the day after we moved in) to do our bedroom curtains and help me out with Jack -- having a house full of partially unpacked boxes while trying to chase a toddler and avoid overstraining a huge belly is a lot to juggle. So, we definitely did not do it alone! I also have to give props to Johnny for being so handy -- he hung all of the curtains, put together our awesome backyard grill, did everything involving measuring, drilling and the use of a level, and in general performed a bunch of "maintenance man" tasks. I'm really glad, because for all the things I know how to do, my handy skills extend no further than changing out a light bulb. I suppose I could learn, but I have to have at least one flaw, right?

We love our new digs. All our late nights to settle in were definitely worth it. I've been promising before and after pics for a while now, so here they are. They are a bit smaller than usual because I want to fit them side by side, so if you want to see enlarged versions, just click on the picture itself. I hope this goes without saying, but with each pair, the left side is before, and the right side is after.
Exterior and windows. These aren't as dramatic, but we refreshed the paint and replaced all of the windows with new double-pane windows (without the ugly criss-crossing). The lawn also looks much better!
Entry hallway
The house has three bedrooms, and thankfully it also as a den. We put new floors and windows in the den, widened the doorway from the entryway and put in a recessed sliding door to give privacy -- the room will be used as an office, guest room, and also nursery during the year my mom lives with us. After that year, the third bedroom will become Baby Surprise's room. The den is really big, so it works well to break it up into different areas.
A guest twin bed will go next to the night stand. That's coming courtesy of my mom. In the future the twin will be Baby's big boy bed, and we'll get a full-sized bed for the den for guests.
We didn't take any more old pics of the den, so here are the rest of the "new" den pics.
The top row, left side is my office corner. Next to that is the closet we put in, as you come in from the entryway, with a play mat in front of it, on which we'll set the glider and ottoman we've ordered. Below that row is the nursery corner. We got Baby Surprise some letters to spell out his name, which we'll string on the wall above his crib, but we can't do that before we've revealed the name! Hee hee.
We changed the kitchen/great room layout so dramatically that I'm not sure how best to illustrate the change in pairs. I'll do my best. The old kitchen was basically an island with a stove, dishwasher, cabinets and counters, set in front of an (very old, very small) oven. By the way, when the oven door was open, you couldn't walk into the island part. Then there were no other cabinets or countertops in the kitchen. Instead, there was a huge amount of wasted space in the rest of the kitchen area, leaving an extremely small living area. And there was a painted-on fireplace (literally, the bricks were painted onto the wall) without a mantel. The huge washer and dryer were set in a corner of the kitchen. It was odd.
If you can believe it, our dining area now is where the old oven/island used to be!
We didn't have any good pics of the old cheesy fireplace (darn), but here is the after.
The master bedroom had really old closets where the doors were falling off the tracks (actually, all the bedroom closets had that problem), as well as opaque windows. So, the room was really dark. Unfortunately we only have one "before" pic of the master bedroom, but you get the idea.
My mom did our curtains for us -- one layer of sheer white with polka dots on it, and a layer of thin white curtain with a black floral design that matches my favorite thing about our room: the light fixture! The pic doesn't do it justice.
We also have pics of our master bath, but that wasn't changed from before, so I won't bother with those.
Now, on to Jack's bedroom, which connects to the hallway bathroom. I have to say, I love Jack's big boy room. I got the bedding, repositionable decals, lamp and toy organizing trays at Target (for a total price that was less than what I would have paid for a comforter alone at Pottery Barn Kids), and picked up some other car-related accessories in other places, including the curtain rods with the red truck finials. We also got him a big boy dresser in a cheery blue from Ikea. Bonus: The drawers have a yellow-and-white striped lining! Go Ikea!
For what it's worth, Jack loves his big boy room. When he saw it all set up, his face lit up, and he kept exclaiming "Cars! Trucks! Cars! Trucks!" For about two nights, he couldn't fall asleep because he was too excited by all the cars on the walls. Now, whenever people come over, Jack runs to show them his room.
Next are pictures of the hall bath. Previously, it had one very low sink (perfect for toddlers, not not anyone else!), an old bathtub, and a toilet that faced the tub. So strange.
And here's the third bedroom before and after. Right now it's empty, awaiting my mom's arrival in a couple of weekends.
So there's the house report! We love being in a house. It feels like there's an infinite amount of space, and cooking in the new kitchen is a pleasure. It's also very refreshing to have a bathroom in our own room. Previously, we also had two bathrooms, but both were in the hallway. This feels more private and secluded. The mortgage is definitely worth tightening our budgets for! Now, on to ...
Johnny's Birthday
My darling husband turned 29 yesterday. I love the three months and 24 days of the year when I can say he's a chronological year older than I am. It makes me feel like a prized young trophy wife. Ha. We had Chris, Victoria, Zach and Sandi over for dinner and a night of gaming on our new 52" TV. (I love saying that, only because it's worlds better than our old TV!) I bought marinated short ribs and side dishes at the Korean market, and made some rice and spinach. We had ourselves quite a spread. Johnny and Chris grilled the meat on our new grill. Instead of a cake, I made mini cheesecake cupcakes -- less overwhelming to eat, and besides, as much as I love baking, I'm not much of a cake chef or decorator. Jack enjoyed eating dinner with everyone and was in great spirits until Johnny dropped a Darth Vader collectible figurine on the floor. It made quite a clatter and frightened Jack into tears.
Sandi, Zach, Chris, Victoria and Johnny in a very silly picture
I gave Johnny the game Left 4 Dead for the XBox 360. Apparently it's a popular game (thanks for the recommendation, Zach!). Johnny got some great loot from our guests. It was fun to have a gathering in our new place! We kept it small, but wanted to do something (other than Jack's birthday in a couple of weeks) before Baby Surprise arrives.
Pregnancy Update
Of course, that's a nice segue into an update about the baby. I hit 35 weeks yesterday. Unbelievable!
I am really starting to feel the burden of the belly.
Things are going well. An ultrasound last Wednesday confirmed that the baby is head down. Awesome! I was so, so happy to see that round image on the screen when the technician moved the wand over my lower belly. That was something I desperately wanted to see during my last few prenatal appointments with Jack, and part of me was thinking I'd never see that. Now, I hope he stays this way. The technician and the midwife both said that he's too big now to move around much, though. He's already (so they say) five pounds six ounces, and they estimate he'll be an eight-pound baby, which would be several ounces larger than Jack, even though I've put on 10 fewer pounds this time around. Go figure. Better him than me, though. They also did a 4D image, and Baby Surprise is so cute (if I do say so myself). He looks a lot like Jack, especially in the nose. Of course you can't tell until they come out, but if you guys were expecting a more "white-looking" baby with a taller nose, you can probably ditch those expectations now.
The ultrasound also showed that he didn't have much hair yet, but then again, I don't know when Jack got all his hair ... it could very well have been in these last few weeks. I can't wait to meet him (but I do hope he stays in there a few more weeks). Physically, I'm feeling pretty good. This second pregnancy has been harder on me lately. My hips hurt when I move positions at night, and when I recline or lie on my back, my lungs feel really squashed, and I can't breathe (so I lay on my side). But, these are minor issues, and I can still walk around fast, bend over, put on my own shoes, carry Jack, etc. I do have to watch how much I do at once -- when I get stressed or too busy, I get a ton of Braxton-Hicks contractions. However, the blood pressure is still great, and I don't have swelling (maybe a bit by the end of the day), so I'm thankful to my body for handling the pregnancy well, for the most part. I don't think I want to spend another 40 weeks pregnant, though -- after this, Johnny and I are pretty sure that the O'Neal Baby Factory is closed.
It did make me sad to see the next door neighbors send their daughter off to her high school prom last night. I remember when my dates for formals came to pick me up. Johnny and I realized we'll never be on the receiving end of that scenario. We'll just send our sons off with their corsages with pleas to be safe and treat their dates with respect. We won't be the ones standing with cameras to take the adorable pictures. And let's face it, shopping for a tux is just not as fun. On the other hand, it will be fun to see Jack and his little brother all dressed up when they're older, and reminisce about their toddler days.
Jack Report
Speaking of toddler days, our little monster has been quite busy lately, what with his verbal explosion, running around the house and yard with Atari, and ever-developing utensil skills. I'll start with the last one. Since moving to the house, we've stored the high chair in the garage and transitioned Jack to eating at the table with us in his booster seat. I took this cue from many fellow mommy friends and decided it was time for family dinners to begin. As much as Johnny and I enjoyed our alone-time dinners after Jack went to bed at night, it was ridiculous to begin cooking at 7:30 p.m. and eat dinner in front of our favorite prime-time shows every night. Since sitting at the table with us, Jack's eaten a lot better and shown a huge interest in utensils. Here was last week's spaghetti night. He surprised me by using his fork to finish a huge plate of pasta and green beans.
Notice that a huge mess was still made!
Jack's still really into fruit. He goes crazy when he sees it. He turns down bananas if there's something more exotic in the house, like mangoes. Here he is chomping on a mango pit. He cried when he'd sucked all the fruit off of it. He is his mother's son.
Now, Jack can have all the oranges he wants, because we have an orange tree in our yard! He loves to help Johnny pick the oranges. Or rather, he watches Johnny pluck the fruit with an orange picker, and then he puts the oranges in a bucket.
The oranges have great flavor, but I think they're better for juice than for eating. Johnny now has several gardening tomes; he'll work on trying to make the fruit sweeter. I've already made two batches of freshly-squeezed OJ. Depending on how you look at it, it's either free OJ ... or the most expensive OJ we've ever had. Usually you go to the store and pay $3.50 for a carton ... instead of mailing a huge check to a bank every month for it. Haha.
Anyway, back to Jack. He is quite the big boy these days. I'm not sure if it's the fact that he's grown a couple of inches, or that his room really does look like a "big boy" room, sans crib and everything, but he just suddenly seems like a "real" boy, no longer a baby. He's stringing two or three words together -- the other day he said, "Ai Mama," which means "love Mama" in Mandarin. He'll also say "Uv oo," which is "I love you," and ask for "Mo juice peese" and similar things. He has a ton of observations lately, and loves to ask for hugs, especially after bathtime. Just look at this!
Of course, not everything is roses. For all of his increased verbal abilities (and new skill of being able to converse if the topic is very simple, like "Do you want [fill in the blank]?), there are still a lot of things he either can't express or is too impatient to express. As a result, there is a lot of whining, especially when he's tired. When I'm cooking dinner in the late afternoon, I usually have a high-pitched ringing in my ears and arms around my legs. He'll also get into this manic mode where he just runs around a room at top speeds, screeching. We're working on impulse control ... wish us luck. For the most part, Jack's pretty cooperative, especially when I need to work or be on a conference call, but occasionally he becomes extremely difficult to handle. It does break my heart when I need to do something right away for work, and Jack tugs at me and says, "No, mama, down. Mo pway." (He wants me to come "down" from my desk chair and engage in "more play.")
But, soon my mom will be here, and that will be one more person to give Jack the attention he needs. I do try to concentrate my working time for weekends, naps and after bedtime, but sometimes I need to be on a call while he's awake. It's hard!Anyway, that's everything! I am feeling much more settled now. The baby's newborn clothes are washed, his pack and play and crib are all set up, and we're just getting some gear in order (cleaning the stroller, putting in the infant car seat, etc.). I packed my hospital bag, too (Tina, I made sure that was done by 35 weeks!).

Ahhhhh! I was waiting for a Bev update and here it is! :)
I love how your place looks so homey and inviting already! I especially love the layout of the kitchen-so roomy! Oh and the light fixture in your master bedroom. Beautiful! Did you get new couches?
@petesamprasrocks - Thank you!! Oh, good question about the couches. No, we did not get new couches. We simply got new slipcovers from Ikea. They're beige -- kinda boring, but easily hides the dirt from a dog and two boys (and two parents who love to eat ice cream and chocolate on the couch
). They didn't have other colors or patterns that worked with our color scheme, so beige it is for now. We also got the new bigger ottoman with space inside in lieu of a coffee table. That way the boys have fewer hard surfaces to bump into.
Wow on all fronts! The house looks great. How awesome that you were able to get in and get settled before Baby Surprise. (Let me know if you need quilts, haha!)
Isn't it incredible how are kids are becoming such... well... *kids* these days? I love it. Every now and then I miss the scrunchy little newborn days, but not too much.
Alright, too much to comment on it all, but anyways, yay that things are going well!
THE HOUSE LOOKS GREAT! Thank gawd for a post! I was dying to know what the heck is going on with you. LOL.
Nice guest room. I can picture it with a full size bed already. Is that my guest room?
I think you guys did a wonderful job remodeling! Who came up with all the ideas? I wish I was that creative. We've been moved in for almost a year now, and I HATE shopping for house stuff. I never know what to get, if it'll match, .. I just don't have much creative juices for decoration.
And Jack sure is looking like he's growing fast. Are you going to teach him how to use chopsticks when the time comes?
Btw, what was your weight gain schedule throughout your pregnancy? I'm 15 weeks. I think I gained about 3 pounds? Maybe 4. When does most of the weight gain happen? And does it slow down towards the end?
@My_Enigma_Heart - Wa! OK, to answer your questions, yes, that is your guest room.
And, my mom came up with a lot of the ideas. She is a remodeling genius. Johnny and I gave it a lot of thought, too, but many things originated from a suggestion my mom had, and then that gave me and Johnny inspiration to finish out the idea. Also our builder was awesome and had a lot of input. Otherwise we never could have done this in 13 days. (The planning happened before we even went into escrow, though.) As far as interior decorating, I love that part -- I love shopping for home stuff. My problem is I tend to get too much, and it doesn't always match. That's where Johnny's eye comes in. He's better at editing and saying, "OK, that's cute, but do we really need a third picture frame on that table?" or "That's a nice piece but clashes with _____ ." If I had the room, I would just buy a bunch of house decorating stuff and store it for future use. Target, Pier 1, Crate and Barrel ... places like that are very dangerous for me.
As for Jack's chopstick use, yes, of course! That goes without saying. But, I don't think the time will come for a couple of years, at least. I asked my mom, and she said she thought we were taught how to use chopsticks around the time we were in preschool. I know we went at age 4, so probably around then. Before then, I don't think Jack will have the fine motor skills or the patience to learn. Well, he might have the motor skills, but he wouldn't have the patience. Plus I don't want him waving them around, trying to poke other people's (or his own) eyes out.
Oh, btw, have you "gone public" with the pregnancy? I've been afraid to mention it on Xanga and Facebook. I guess you have! Congrats again -- now I can say it in a public forum. As far as weight gain "schedule," well, there is no schedule, because everyone is different. (Don't you get tired of hearing that? I do.) I think the "typical" schedule they say is:
* First tri: 3-5 pounds
* Second tri: 1 pound a week
* Third tri: 1/2 pound a week; 1/4 pound a week in the last few weeks (or many women report no gain at all in last few weeks)
This time, I think my body naturally stuck to that schedule. I gained 3 lbs in the first tri, and in my second tri, from the time I went to Taiwan (16 weeks) until I hit 28 weeks, I gained pretty rapidly. I would say it was definitely average of 1 lb a week during that time. Sometimes more (like 2 lbs a week), sometimes less (like none or 0.5), but it averaged out to 1 a week, I think. Now in my late third tri, I've not gained in about two to three weeks. It gets kind of unpredictable about now. I still eat a lot, but my body is naturally being very, uh, efficient in keeping my digestive system empty, if you know what I mean. So I'm seeing much less gain now, which was the case with Jack, too. It's funny b/c this is also the time when I feel like I look huger by the minute. Go figure. Anyway, I think baby gets big at this point, so your digestive system can't keep a lot in, so you tend to slow down on the weight gain.
Sounds like you're right on track. Seriously, though, like I told you in Taiwan, please don't worry about how much weight you gain or don't gain. I know you eat healthy. As long as you keep doing that, and don't let yourself get hungry, and keep well-hydrated and (safely) active, your body knows how much to gain, be that 15 pounds or 45 or whatever.
Whatever you gain under healthy circumstances is the right amount!
Congrats on getting in and settled!! It's way cute - looks like you guys did a LOT of updating. Very nice!!
ROFL... I can't believe you mentioned my name at the end of the post, you DO listen to me! I was reading and reading and wondering when this post was over so I can finally comment. It's actually getting a bit late here for me so I shouldn't even be online but what the heck, you haven't posted for over a week now. I had to finish reading your post! Enjoyed every picture as usual.
I LOVE the before after picts of your house... it's really night and day. It's amazing how renovating an old house can make it look totally different. I love everything about it, your kitchen, Jack's room, and how open everything is. Makes me want to buy a new house just to redo everything. (well not really) There are lots of little things I want to get done in my current house, but you know how it is after you move in.
I'm so impressed with Jack's eating skills. I need some kids who eat as well as Jack, how come I got stuck with the two bad eaters? Actually Tyson is good, with the exception of spitting his food everywhere, especially with things he's unfamiliar with. Now I know what they mean when they say it takes a child 10x to get used to a new food. Tristan has always been a horrible eater, so that rule never really applied. Tonight was pineapple night, and as much as I thought Tyson enjoyed this new fruit, later after the boys went to bed and I cleaned up around the house, I found 10 bits of pineapple all chewed up and all over different spots in the house. He likes to chew his food, spit it out and ask for more.
As for wanting attention, that is very normal for a child. I would be surprised to hear kids "not wanting you to hold/play" with them constantly. That's the exact reason why I can never take care of my kids and work from home at the same time. I have trouble just doing my regular chores. I'm begining to think Jack is extremely well behaved just from seeing you have the time to write long blogs and post organized pictures!
OK time to go, I had an extremely crazy weekend... I'm very tired and have to go to work in about 7 hours so I better start getting to bed. And one more thing, gets lots of rest, you have several more weeks to go before the new baby comes!
i love your house! it's very neat and clean and fresh!
my 2nd pregnancy is harder than the 1st... i am 32 weeks today. 2 days ago, had my ultrasound and the baby is already 4 pounds, which the dr. said it's a little big. the head is down and he said i may deliver early........ well, i hope it's not that early 'cause i sure do not want a premature baby! are u able to sleep at night? when does the dr. check if you are open or not?
@luvlyac - I am able to sleep at night, but in fits and starts. Definitely not thru the whole night! As for checking for dilation, it depends. Most doctors start at 36 weeks, when your weekly visits start. I'm using a midwife this time around, though, so she doesn't check at all before labor starts, unless I'm having contractions already.
I LOVE your new house! And i REALLY REALLY love how you guys changed everything, especially that kitchen. It's so warm and welcoming!!!! Congratulations!
Happy belated to Johnny, and hugs to that cutie, Jack!
Wow, your new house looks great.
I made it all the way through and I enjoyed every moment
Beverly, you have a gorgeous HOME! I love the way everything came out and the colors and furniture all look great...all complete with an orange tree in the back!
You are all belly
You look great! I'm so glad that he is still head down. 35 weeks was my cut-off if I wanted them to try to turn Hannah because after that they said there just wasn't enough room.
Happy belated birthday to Johnny!
@shelly1196 - Awww, thanks, Shelly! I can't wait for you to see it in person, SOON!
I am getting a bit nervous because I am having many Braxton Hicks contractions. Well, I'm not sure if they're objectively many, but definitely much more than I had with Jack. I would say that within any given hour, I'll have at least two. And I swear this morning, my belly is lower than it was yesterday. My mom and her friend said yesterday that it looked like I was carrying low already. Now, that could be because he's head down, and Jack was always head up -- apparently that causes the baby to sit higher. Did you ever hear that with Hannah? Anyway, I feel tons of pressure on my pelvic bone, which I also never had with Jack, except maybe when I went into labor on my due date. No, not even really then, since his butt was too big to press on my pelvic bone.
I'm probably just being nervous for nothing. Women have BHs all the time without going into labor. I just keep thinking, I'm only 35 weeks! Eeek.
Beverly the house is gorgeous! And I am SO jealous you are already unpacked and settled. Pictures on the wall and everything! Wow!!
@Kristen - Kristen, two words: NESTING INSTINCT! It is powerful. LOL.
It is really hard for me to believe that it's the same house. The after pictures are stunning. You guys should have been featured on HGTV!! So glad you are happy in your new space and that Jack is adjusting well to his Big Boy Room.
Your house sounds like mine in the late afternoons - lots of whining, screaming, babies hanging on your legs. Tierney does the same thing. She throws tantrums like crazy. Even though she is fairly advanced verbally, she still gets really frustrated and likes to dramatically throw herself to the ground several times a day. This morning all I could think about was "NAP TIME!!!"
Alright- better let you go. So glad to hear Baby Surprise is head down. Hope the VDAC (is that the right lingo?) goes well.
wowie. your house is beautiful. you guys really did redo everything. you must've did a lot of research on it? i wouldn't know where to start. the kitchen, jack's room, master, bathroom, gosh, all the rooms are so pretty.
35 weeks already? it seems so fast! (although the preggers one usually doesn't think it's that fast cuz they're the uncomfortable one! hehe). in a month, you will have 2 cutie boys, and jack will be such a good big brother. you have a very lovely family.
Bev, the house looks amazing! How awesome to have an orange tree in your back yard? I'm totally jealous, but in the good way!
You look great too, btw! I can't believe you are into the final weeks already. I cringe when I type that to people, as I hated hearing it and would always think Yeah, sure... easy to say when you aren't the one pregnant! But time flies no? Jack is adorable, as ever. I love the picture of you holding him when he's nekkid!
Thanks for your kind words. It's been super stressful but I'm putting faith in that everything is going to be okay. He got a callback for security clearance forms, so there's a start! Trying to be positive. As for me, I'm terrified but keep thinking that everything will work out, because it has to. LOL! Anyways, love love love the pictures of the new place and your Mom, you and Johnny have great taste! Everything looks fab!
Morning Beveeeeeeeeerly. When does your mom get here? She still in Taiwan?
Oh my gosh, we have been so frustrated lately with the whininess!!! Ash is a pretty good communicator at only 20 months, but he does A LOT of whining! Moreso than his brothers did before him, so it's hard to figure out how to get him to communicate more with words and gestures instead of just whining. Maybe soon they'll get to hang out and they can just whine at each other all the time and get it out of their systems, LOL.
The house looks great. It's really cool seeing the before and after pictures. You guys made such great improvements. I bet it feels so wonderful to have your own place, exactly how you want it, and be settled finally!
You and Jack look so adorable together in the mango pic. Your belly is also adorable. I didn't realize Jack was short for Jackson. Have you guys said what you're naming Baby Boy #2 yet?
Oh - and I was going to ask if you ever posted wedding pictures before, after you commented on my wedding post. I'd love to see pictures!
@My_Enigma_Heart - Wa, she's been back in the States since I got back in February! LOL. Who do you think helped me with all the renovations? She's moving in on June 20. She's still at her house in Yorba Linda right now, packing up. She's gotta put a lot of stuff in storage, give some stuff to my sister for her apartment, and then decide what to bring to her room here.
@glorycato - Thanks, Anna! Yup, we have decided what to name #2 but haven't said yet. And yes, I've posted wedding pics before, but I think it was before "your time" on my blog. I will post them again, for sure!
OMG look at your tiny little belly!!!!!! I feel like an overgrown whale next to you!!!
Everything looks amazing. Can't wait to see you!
Beverly,
Your house looks wonderful! I especially love the fireplace with the granite- is the fireplace cover brushed nickle? We used brushed nickle for all of our fixtures throughout our houes and I love it!
Your belly looks so cute! I hope everything goes well for you as far as labor- if this is it for the baby factory- are you getting your tubes tied?
@sleepymommy2 - Julie, I have no idea what the fireplace cover is ... it's the original one that the owners left, and all I can say is, it's very old. LOL. It does have a silver look to it. Like you, we used brushed nickel for everything else throughout the house, and I love it too!
Thanks for the smooth labor wishes. Since I'm going for a VBAC and hopefully won't need a c-section, I'm not getting my tubes tied. Anyway, even if I do end up with a c/s, I don't think Johnny and I are ready for that permanent of a solution yet (and I think we always planned for him to get the snip-snip when we WERE ready
). For now I'm going to get the Mirena, and if by the end of its five-year effectiveness span, we're still sure about not expanding our family, we'll look into a permanent solution!
I love the brushed nickle! We considered the black iron look but went with the brushed nickle instead- we liked the black but thought that was more of a personal preference and we aren't sure we are staying here forever- it was tough picking out all those items.
The Mirena sounds like a great plan for your family- who knows- you may change your mind about another baby and you and Johnny are relatively young to make that permant of a decision (not an old foogy like me)- hoping you have a safe VBAC and a healthy baby boy!
