  • Almost a Pound!

Today, at 22 weeks, Baby Boy O'Neal weighs almost a pound! (Yes, that means the other pounds I've gained have just gone to me. Scarily enough, it also means I have at least another six pounds to gain, if the baby's going to be of average birth weight!) There's no food comparison this week -- my books and Baby Center just say that he's almost 11 inches long, gaining muscle coordination and bone mass, and undergoing rapid brain growth. The eyes are almost done developing, eyebrows are in place and the lips are taking further shape. How cute! I can feel his kicks strongly now from the inside, and the other night, Johnny felt a light kick from the outside! It was very exciting.

In other news, the weather here has been amazing. On Monday night, it was a balmy 70 degrees after work. Johnny and I went out to dinner and basked in the warm spring weather. In the morning, when I walk to the car in our complex's parking lot, I can smell the salt of the ocean on the breeze. Far cry from a slushy March in New York!

This Saturday, I am having dinner with Tammy and Wawa. I am very excited to meet these ladies! Tammy called last night (sorry we couldn't talk long!), and it was great to hear her voice! Those of you who read her blog, she sounds just as nice and cute as she does on her Xanga!  I'll be messaging you ladies via Xanga today about the restaurant details.

Off to finish my work for the week before end of day tomorrow -- have a good weekend, everyone!

  • wow almost a pound!  Don't worry about the other pounds!  Its mostly water weight as he is floating in your tummy.  That's such a serene image isn't it?  Floating on water...mmm, hahaha.  Thanks for your nice comment about me on your xanga!  I felt like when we talked I was talking to a friend I have known for a long time:) ...its so great we have gotten to know each other so well over xanga and know enough about what's going on with one another that we can carry on a conversation right away!

Very excited to meet you and Johnny this weekend!  Hope you had fun at the event last night!

  • Awww that's so cute!

  • haha.. I'm disappointed I don't get to refer to a fruit about your baby boy's weight....   lol...      It's fast isn't it?  22 weeks.... :)

  • okay, i'm too shy to talk on the phone.. since I'm not great with phones in the first place...   So I'll wait till we meet.     lol

  • Hey Beverly, it just occured to me, is this dinner place dressy or casual?  I'm trying to figure out what to pack cuz I travel light and hate checking luggage so I was just going to do a carry-on.  So let me know:)

  • Wow!  Congratualtions on the next pound.  I know you can't wait for your little bundle to come into the world.  I missed the fruit analogy today, but that's ok...I'll be looking forward to the next one!

  • yay, i finally caught up on your entries after my week-long xanga hiatus...sorry about your morning/motion sickness...it's no fun to be sick but esply all by yourself! That was sweet of your coworkers to give you a surprise shower though!! What kind of goodies did you get? Im sure Johnny was excited to feel the baby kick! Have a great weekend!!

  • Aw, baby O'Neil is growing up! Johnny must be really happy to feel him kicking. Have a great time with the xanga friends!

  • Beverly, I haven't forgotten about you!! Since I got back from Toronto, I had to throw myself back into work (I'm working on a manuscript that's due on the 30th). Anyway, one pound! That's going to be a milestone right? Your baby will soon be 1/8 of Toastie! Hehe. It's still snowy and icy here in Ann Arbor but I hear it's going to get warmer. When I got out of work at 5:30 today, it was still bright outside, which is already a drastic improvement. Anyway, I can't wait to see baby pictures soon!

  • Your pregnancy has really gone by fast!  I hope mine does.  I am ready to see the little bean!

  • got the details:)  can't wait...and can't believe its tomorrow night!!!  I ran an extra 2 miles this morning in anticipation of the mucho calories we are going to consume at dinner hahaha.

  • Honey, a LOT of that is embryonic fluid.  Don't worry about it!!  You'll lose a lot of that in afterbirth!

  • As others have said, don't worry about the weight! When I got home I had already lost half the weight I gained and I lost the rest very quickly. I now actually weigh less than before I was pregnant. I attribute a lot of it to the breastfeeding

How exciting...kicks!!! Sigh...I miss feeling that!

  • Awww, how exciting!! He is getting bigger and bigger every week! Have fun tomorrow! :o )

  • it has been SUCH a slushy march. lucky you!

  • I've heard so many differing things about the weight you gain in pregnancy - I'm just trying to enjoy this time and prepare for the added noise/joy/stress of having someone else in our house that won't leave after a visit!  Love your pics!  I'll continue to catch up on your posts this week.

  • Lol, enjoy the warm weather. Today it was in the 50s during the day but now it's 43 deg & feels much colder here.

ryc: Thanks Beverly, Henry was very happy to see us. Eddie picked him up when we loaded him into the truck & when we got home. He has a shaved part on his left side where the pain patch is, all 4 paws are shaved & he's shaved from chest to sack. We feel bad since the incision's all pink & looks extremely painful. He didn't want to lay on the clean blanket on top of his bed, but he's sleeping on the living room floor now.

  • hey can you email me some info on New York. dustin and i are going up there in October for our Anniversery and we need to know of nice hotels and such to stay. i am so excited we are going to see grease on broadway. anyways please email me when you get a chance at lhoglan@sbcglobal.net Thanks and i am glad to see and hear that the baby is doing great
